Pioneer Builders got its start in 2002 with Ryan Foster and Michael Rather as business partners. Ryan Foster had years of experience prior working for large construction companies in Mendocino and Sonoma counties.
Michael Rather had many years of experience completing smaller but very beautiful remodel projects in Lake County.
In 2002 our experiences were combined as a partnership.
As Pioneer Builders, we began building custom homes together, building a fine reputation in the local community.
Unfortunately, Mike battled a long, hard fight against cancer, which ended his life journey in 2009. Michael will always be remembered for his faith, zeal, and unconditional love for others. Many clients still comment on the personal care and attention he added to their projects.
Pioneer Builders has continued the company with a modest but very qualified crew, taking great care to implement the care and personal attention that we started with and has since become our trademark.

Pioneer Builders primarily focuses on custom homes and remodels, although we have completed several commercial projects as well.
Having our own heavy equipment and specialized labor crews, we are able to perform many tasks within company instead of subcontracting out, allowing us to be very competitive in the ground up building process.
In our many years of experience in Lake County we have completed hundred of projects and are very proud of the long list of very happy clients we have met and friends we have made along the way.
